Each area of a CoolSculpting session usually lasts between 35 and 60 minutes. During treatment, a cooling applicator is put on the fat pocket that needs to be treated. Patients feel a firm pull and then a very cold feeling. The area usually goes numb in a few minutes, which makes the procedure comfortable and easy to handle. Patients may have mild redness, swelling, or numbness after treatment, but these symptoms usually go away in a few days to a few weeks. Most people go back to their normal activities right away, and the results slowly become clear over the next 1 to 3 months as the body gets rid of fat cells.
