Treatment Overview
Treatment Overview
Limelight IPL Photorejuvenation is a light-based treatment that doesn't involve any surgery and is meant to get rid of visible signs of sun damage, aging, and stress from the environment. It uses cutting-edge Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology to get rid of brown spots, redness, broken capillaries, and uneven pigmentation, making skin clearer and brighter. At NewDermaMed, our skilled staff will make a treatment plan just for you based on your skin type and goals. This will help you get a smoother, brighter complexion with as little downtime as possible.
What to Expect
What to Expect
A normal Limelight IPL session lasts between 30 and 45 minutes. The treatment sends pulses of broad-spectrum light to the skin, which makes it feel warm or tingly. Some dark spots may get darker for a short time before naturally flaking off, while redness and vascular lesions slowly fade. There may be some mild redness or sensitivity, but it usually goes away in a few hours to a couple of days. Most patients can go back to their normal lives right away, which makes it a good choice for people who are busy.
How it Works
How it Works
IPL uses different wavelengths of light to focus on melanin (pigment) and hemoglobin (blood vessels) in the skin. The body naturally gets rid of these irregularities by breaking them down and absorbing the light energy. IPL also encourages the production of collagen, which makes skin more elastic, toned, and generally better. Cutera®'s Limelight is a medical-grade device that lets you customize it exactly to your skin tone and condition, so you can be sure of safe and effective results.
Maintenance
Maintenance
Most patients need three to five treatments spaced a few weeks apart for the best results. The results are gradual, with skin that is clearer and brighter becoming more noticeable after each session. To keep the results and control redness and pigmentation, it is best to get maintenance treatments once or twice a year.
