Bring out your inner radiance with rosacea laser treatment

Rosacea is a common skin condition. At first, people with rosacea notice that they seem to blush more easily than other people. However, over time, this redness may not go away, and can spread beyond the cheeks and nose, to the ears, neck, chest and/or eyelids.

At NewDermaMed, we consider laser technology the best way to treat rosacea and its visible symptoms. We use only the safest and most innovative technology on the market to suit each client’s needs. We employ Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and the innovative non-ablative 1064 Nd:YAG laser, both of which have demonstrated superior, long lasting results when it comes to treating rosacea.

We are proud to offer this service at both our downtown Toronto and North York locations and are happy to service customers from the Mississauga area.

TYPES OF ROSACEA

Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea
(red patches, usually on the nose, cheeks, chin and/or forehead)

Papulopustular rosacea
(acne-like papules or pustules)

Phymatous rosacea

CAUSES OF ROSACEA

Although the exact cause is unknown, rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that causes dilation of the blood vessels. It can be exacerbated by alcohol, spicy foods, exercise, anxiety, or anything else that triggers inflammation. In fact, it is this increased blood flow near your skin’s surface that gives rosacea its sunburned appearance. Acne-like bumps, red or pink patches, and broken capillaries can also be symptoms.

Facial veins can also become more prominent due to rosacea, although they can also be caused by excessive sun or wind exposure, alcohol consumption and hormonal or genetic factors.

ROSACEA SYMPTONS

NewDermaMed provides only FDA-approved Intense Pulse Light and laser to help reduce the appearance of various rosacea symptoms, including:

Dry Skin

Frequent flushing or blushing

Persistent skin redness

Rough skin plaques, or areas of raised red skin

Skin irritation, including burning, stinging or itching

Skin swelling and inflamation

Skin thickening around the nose (e.g. rhinophyma)

Small, red bumps that may be solid or pus-filled and resemble acne

Visibility of small blood vessels

Watery, bloodshot eyes (also known as ocular rosacea)

ROSACEA TREATMENT

We use proven, powerful Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and 1064 Nd:YAG laser treatments, which have demonstrated long lasting results in reducing the symptoms of rosacea.

The LimeLight IPL laser is ideal for getting rid of the “broken” or hyper-reactive blood vessels that cause your skin to turn red so easily.
Laser Genesis is an advanced 1064nm Nd:YAG laser designed to penetrate more deeply than previous rosacea therapies. It eliminates any feeder blood vessels responsible for causing persistent blushing. Once they are removed along with troublesome spider veins and red bumps, rosacea flare-ups will be reduced dramatically.

ROSACEA TREATMENT RESULTS

Immediately after your laser therapy session, the treated areas of your skin might actually appear red or slightly swollen. However, this is a normal reaction to the treatments and will subside within a few hours.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments are fast and relatively pain-free with few side effects. Depending on your skins current condition, some clients need a number of laser treatments to ensure long-term results.
